Wage: $45,000-55,000, DOE
General Summary of Purpose of this Position: The Montana HRDC Director’s Association (MDA) is seeking an Association Director to provide ongoing guidance, assistance, and representation. The board meets in person on a bi-monthly basis at locations around the state and will require travel and overnight stays.
This position leads the team of State HRDC Directors in the identification, creation, and implementation of strategic, multi-faceted projects and programs designed to build and strengthen the role and reputation of the various organizations. The mission of the Association is to unify and focus the policies and purposes of the executive directors of the ten HRDCs within the State of Montana, in order that such EDs may better achieve and strengthen their common goals of promoting social welfare and serving low income and economically and environmentally disadvantaged peoples. This position works independently and as part of the MT HRDC Director’s Association.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Community Action Initiative

The association director works with the Executive Directors of the ten community action agencies to liaison with state agency partners, regional and national association partners, provide training, manage grants, oversee meetings, and generally implement the directors’ agenda.
More specifically, the hiree is responsible to provide for:
The business functions of the Association, including scheduling and facilitating regular
meetings requiring travel and overnight stays.
Grant applications, grants management and reports and budget tracking
Engaging and participating in regional association
Outreach, education and promotion of the Association as a statewide network
Liaison with state agencies in the coordination and implementation of various federally
and state funded programs
Solicit and coordinate contracted services
Promote the sustainability of the Association
Advocate and lobby on issues of common interest
Follow national trade associations and keep directors informed
Research, identify, and provide leadership on potential statewide initiatives and regional
collaboration opportunities
Facilitate, design, and implement a strategic plan

Drivers Licenses Required for Performing this Position:

Montana Class D Driver License
Must have personal transportation and appropriate insurance

Education and Experience

Education: The following course(s) of study or classwork usually provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position:

Bachelor’s degree in related field from four-year college or university required. Bachelor’s degree in human services/public administration or Business Administration preferred.

Supervision

This position operates under broadly stated policies, goals, objectives, and principles. The incumbent has, within established policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations, broad freedom to establish work priorities and/or methods used to accomplish work.
