THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Systems Analysts produces quality deliverables including evaluating, planning, configuring, implementing, controlling, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting our JIRA and Confluence system environments. The goal of the team is to provide impactful improvements on the system and to support the multitude of teams utilizing the systems. OpenText has a substantial implementation of JIRA/Confluence and offers quite a range of opportunities for the team to utilize and improve their skills. Evaluating newly acquired systems and consolidating to OpenText system(s) is also a responsibility. This position benefits from being part of a small team but also from being able to draw from the larger IT teams responsible for all Enterprise Business Systems at OpenText.
WHAT YOU ARE GREAT AT:
Planning, coordination and execution of software installation, configuration, maintenance, testing and upgrades.
Providing application support for JIRA and Confluence applications.
Writing and maintaining systems, infrastructure, procedural and process documentation.
Managing work to meet milestones in accordance with the project plan and keeping management and project managers informed of issues and statuses.
Working with other departments and outside vendors to design and seamlessly implement any production change required.
Interacting with Business representatives to ensure their requirements are being met within the framework of the tools available.
Providing documentation for all new design implementations engineered from within the group or assisting in the documentation for projects jointly engineered with other departments.
Managing tickets, reviewing queues and providing feedback to specialists and management.
Isolating, reproducing and analyzing complex or escalated support issues through to resolution, either via assignment or direct ownership depending on severity.
Collaborating well with globally distributed support teams and peers.
WHAT IT TAKES TO EXCEL:
Expert knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and other Atlassian Products and Plugins and their administration.
Strong experience with Linux and other operating systems.
Working knowledge of MSSQL and other databases.
Experience with automating tasks through scripting (shell scripts, Perl etc.)
Strong working knowledge of SDLC Methodology and Tools.
Strong working knowledge of HP QC/ALM Testing Suites or similar Tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create technical documentation and system diagrams.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to prioritize workload and tasks to effectively meet established deadlines.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and self-motivated to learn.
Software Development Background (coding or scripting).
At least intermediate knowledge of Networking, Active Directory/LDAP
Adhere to IT Change Management and other ITIL best practices.
Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by a 24×7 production environment. This includes after-hours releases and Critical Severity 1 incident support.
8+ plus years of similar or relevant experience or demonstrated ability
University/College degree technology related or equivalent work experience
