All the hard work pays off – you will benefit from a competitive compensation package, a dynamic and supportive team, and the ability to work from your home office.About the RoleReporting to the Accounting Manager, the Bookkeeper and Office Administrator will maintain company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. They perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments. In addition to other office administrative and accounting-related duties as required.ResponsibilitiesGeneral bookkeeping postings and journal entries (double entry);Assist with Quarter End and Year End preparation, and Financial Audit;Create PowerPoint presentations and other documentation for management team to present;Enter all transactions and important details into QuickBooks and update other relevant company records. Such as running monthly audits on QuickBooks entries to confirm accuracy and preparing financial reports as needed;Processing accounts receivable and recording deposits;Recording and paying various payables;Reconciling ledgers and bank accounts;Preparing commission statements and payroll;Preparing and filing government remittances;Assisting the accounting manager with year-end audits;Assisting with portfolio management, lender statements and other mortgage transaction related inquiries;Maintaining all company records in electronic accounting software (including posting general journals and bank reconciliations); and,Other office administrative and accounting-related duties as required.ExperienceDegree or diploma in accounting, finance, or other relevant field, and at least 3 years of relevant working experience.Basic bookkeeping experience and/or basic knowledge of QuickBooks or a similar accounting system: 2+ years.Comfortable working in Microsoft Word and Excel.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.High attention to detail and strong accounting skills.Able to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks while ensuring all are delivered as scheduled.Ability to take ownership, initiative and is highly adaptable to take on different tasks and projects.Able to maintain confidentiality.Sage 50 – Simply Accounting, Quickbooks experience.Project management and communication skills are an asset.Please submit your application using the apply button.
