The position will be responsible for patron services in an event-based environment. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, problem solving, ticketing professional, dedicated to customer service and the creation of a welcoming atmosphere for patrons and colleagues alike.Job duties: Oversee the overall day to day operations of the theatre box office. Schedule staff for daytime and evening operations.Responsible for programming and monitoring the ticketing system. Manage the computerized ticket system: build new events; create season packages; monitor holds, returns, and inventory; process system upgrades and patches; work with Managing Director to reserve artist holds and/or other seat holds or compsAdvise and assist with implementation, reporting and generating event reports.Reconcile issues between ticket sales and the ticketing system, including any shortages or overages in cash drawers. Prepare and submit a nightly settlement report.Train Box Office personnel, reviewing and updating policies and procedures with the Managing Director.Work with the Managing Director on executing proper cash handling and cash control.Assist Managing Director to meet groups or tours as they plan events at Mother Lode.Respond quickly to all needs relating to Box office and ticket sales.Ensure customer satisfaction: Be the welcoming face for patrons; provide solutions for patron complaints or disputes; build relationships with regular patrons, members, and donorsOversee and maintain a clean and current patron database for use by Marketing, Development, and Programming; generate reports on requestCompensation: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour depending on experienceWork Schedule: Varied, but typically Monday thru Friday 10 am to 4 pm plus evening and weekend availability required. Exact days and hours will vary depending on the theater’s schedule, but typically 30-40 per week.This is a non-exempt position.Key Competencies: Two (s) years’ experience in a customer-facing position in a related service industry.Demonstrated computer skills and ability to master AudienceView ticketing software; practical skills with other computer programs, such as Word, Publisher and Excel.Strong customer service experience: the ability to think quickly and solve problems to ensure the comfort and safety of patrons; skill in conflict resolution.People skills; a talent for diplomacy; a friendly approach that can be efficient and firm without also being rigid.Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to work independently and exercise leadership that is both strong and considerate. An unselfish team leader dedicated to the empowerment and success of colleagues. A builder of strong relationships.Enthusiasm for the performing arts and artists, and the ability to communicate that to patrons.Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required by the event schedule.Manage the preparation and reconciliation of all event box office and concession cash drawersJob Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible schedulePaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:All staff are required to wear masks during shows in the short-term. Patrons are encouraged to wear masks but the state doesn’t allow businesses to mandate masks indoors.
