JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Development Officer (BDO) will provide leadership to develop relationships and opportunities for the corporation. This individual will have the right blend of analytical talent and business know-how. We want a team player who understands identifying a new market opportunity and knows what it takes to lead a team forward. And a leader who will realize every opportunity. We expect the BDO to interact with stakeholders, executives, and our IMDG Board of Directors with excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Liaison/Collaboration:
Leads efforts to build collaborative relationships with tribal, state, federal and regional economic development programs, and organizations.
Designs, plans, and supports implementation of programs in coordination with other economic development organizations.
Build a network of professional business relationships for IMDG within Indian country economic development.
Project Management:
Supports community and economic development efforts through administrative and project management.
Provide project management support to staff and leadership of the organization that aligns with the companys business plan and overall strategic vision.
Provides support to COO and VP of Business Operations in improving internal programs, policies, and processes.
Supports IMDG in providing technical assistance to the Fort Belknap Indian Community.
Program Development:
Perform market research to identify new opportunities and engage with executives to establish strategies for pursuing those opportunities.
Coordinate and help produce proposals as assigned, ensuring the proposals meet specifications and deadlines as well as IMDGs quality standards.
Identify new sources of funding and opportunity, monitor and share information from outside sources.
Designs, plans, and supports implementation of programs.
Other:
Plan, coordinate and assists in the implementation of a master community planning approach for integration into IMDGs long-term strategic plan.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Bachelors degree in business, economics, or related field, required
5+ years experience working in a economic development
3+ years project management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Top-notch analytical skills you must have an eye for detail!
The ability to travel, attend conferences.
Great leadership skills
LEADERSHIP:
Ability to sustain interpersonal and professional relationships with internal colleagues
Strong understanding of IMDGs strategy and how tasks contribute to the greater good
Consistently works within internal process and procedures
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Engagement in corporate initiatives
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Strong planning and time management skills
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make a presentation
Ability to problem-solve difficult issues
Ability to multitask with ease, adapting to frequently changing priorities
Good negotiating and conflict resolution skills
Strong understanding of budgets
POSITION / HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
Standard days and hours of work will vary depending on the business needs of the company.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear.
This position requires standing, walking, kneeling, and crouching.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel will be required for Professional Development, conferences, trainings, and meetings as a representative of IMDG.
