Job Description : Boulder Scientific Company (BSC) is headquartered in Mead, CO, and is a premier provider of organometallic compounds and other specialty chemicals used in a wide range of applications. BSC is a pioneer and leading manufacturer of metallocene catalysts and co-catalysts that are primarily used to produce metallocene polyethylene, polypropylene and elastomers, but also supplies products into Electronics, Pharmaceutical and Defense applications. BSC operates two sites in Northern Colorado, which include: a main production facility in Mead and a second facility in Longmont. BSC has continuously grown the sales of its products to existing and new customers and expects to continue on a high growth trajectory.The CAD Specialist position will require an intermediate knowledge of AutoCad/Revit Software. This person will work with BSC’s Engineering team on general CAD design, including grading, piping, site layouts, equipment layouts, plans and profiles, cross sections, P&ID’s, and drawing package development for project work. The CAD specialist will be responsible for working closely with the process design and project management team to build accurate equipment plans, elevations, shop drawings, and 3D models.Pay for this role is $24.00-33.00/Hr. *Job Responsibilities*
*Use AutoCad/REVIT to design piping systems, structural supports, skids, and pressure vessels, and produce associated fabrication drawings
Produce new drawings and revise existing drawings
Understand and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID); use AutoCAD software to create/modify P&IDs
Utilize information provided by project engineering and field measurements
Prepare bills of material and schedules; assist engineering personnel with bidding process and budgeting
Work with process design engineers and project managers in a team environment to provide quality work to meet BSC’s expectations
Aid in the production of complete and accurate design drawings
*Qualifications*
Minimum of an Associates’ Degree in Drafting or equivalent
*Experience*
*Minimum of two years’ drafting experience is preferred
Minimum of two years’ experience using AutoCAD & Revit Software, or at least be proficient with these software platforms to perform job functions
Able to read and understand equipment drawings, data sheets and vendor supplied detailed drawings
Able to read architectural drawing and blueprints
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of chemical manufacturing equipment and piping is preferred
Must pass a job-related physical exam
*Work Environment*
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to Colorado weather conditions and manufacturing plant environment. Will be in manufacturing and lab environments that require the appropriate use of PPE. Employee may be required to work hours other than their usual schedule; may be required to be on-call or available at odd hours and weekends to support manufacturing startups and continuously-running processes.
