Position : Cafeteria Assistant

Job Description : The Laurel School District is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Cafeteria Assistant position(s) within the District. This is a Level III position with a beginning wage of $14.11 per hour.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED.
Previous experience with quantity food preparation and service.
Ability to write, read, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Able to express himself/herself clearly and concisely in both oral and written communications.
Able to perform duties with an awareness of all District requirements and Board policies.
Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively manage time and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists in the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria.
Assists in the preparation, cleaning and organizing of all materials used in food preparation and distribution.
Assists in cleaning the kitchen and cafeteria.
Assists in the disposal and storage of unused food.
Assists in the preparation of the cafeteria, including and not limited to the set-up and removal of seating.

Only minimum duties are listed. Other functions may be required as assigned.
