Summary
We are currently hiring for a Category Manager, Food Service to join our Rocky Mountain Merchandising and Marketing team in Colorado. Reporting to the Director of Food Service, the Category Manager will maximize gross profit by selecting suppliers, evaluating new products, negotiating pricing and planning marketing strategies of assigned categories. The Category Manager supports the company’s goals by focusing on personal accountability, customer service and work efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Fully accountability for the management of the Circle K Food Category in the Rocky Mountain Business Unit.
Ability to adapt and execute food category strategies and tactics for the Business Unit.
Accountable for developing and implementing marketing strategies that support the departments budgeted growth initiatives.
Maintains external vendor relations by providing direction, guidance, and information, resolving concerns.
Responsible for maximizing merchandise sales and franchise royalty revenues by providing comprehensive ongoing support to all franchise units within the system including single site and area franchisees.
Responsible for working with Franchise Business Consultants in managing all Marketing related aspects of site conversions to Circle K from other brands as well as for new to industry openings in their designated geography.
Work closely with Franchisees, Site Development and Operations to deliver seamless conversions and NTI openings to the Circle K standard.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to new program development, managing promotional activity for a large group of stores and managing one or more categories.
Determines annual sales growth by developing annual market plans and coordinating implementation with the field; analyzes trends and results.
Selects vendors, negotiates costs and terms for products and develops schematics by applying category management principles in accordance with the department’s strategic objectives.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving
problems.
Defrays cost of equipment, advertising and promotional programs by negotiating allowances
Serves market segments and specific product needs by responding to field requests for market or product specific materials.
Projects and measures category sales and gross profit results by developing and maintaining records of item cost, retail and gross margin dollars.
Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

Profile Requirements

College Degree or comparable work experience required
5+ years’ experience in retail marketing, food service or operations preferred.
Ability to communicate professionally, verbal or written with associates, vendors, customers and clients.
Knowledge and experience with Power BI an asset.
Capable of working independently and within a team environment.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to travel to store locations as required (Approximately 25- 40%).
