Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or similar field; minimum of three years of experience in communications role; antiracist and social justice vision for education; strong writing skills with a track record of publication; organizational skills; deep understanding of public schools; ability to coach students, Eagle Rock colleagues, and external partners to publish articles on antiracist, social justice education; experience working with, and loving commitment to, diverse young people including individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ and individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following attributes: a passion for communication in the service of transforming education; deep love of young people; the embodiment of an antiracist, social justice commitment; team mentality; visionary thinking; a commitment to lifelong learning; boundless energy; seasoned judgment; and an appreciation for the fact that working at a residential school is more of a calling than a job.
Responsibilities

Facilitate communications strategy: Implement and evolve communications strategy in alignment with our antiracist, social justice commitment; facilitate our communications strategy by maintaining consistent voice and focus in content including social media, articles, brochures, presentations, and website copy; monitor and analyze key performance indicators to offer suggestions for improvement.
Amplify learning and empower student voice through publications and conference presentations: Work to amplify what we’re learning at Eagle Rock, and what our external partners are learning through their work with us, in order to shift thoughts and actions towards liberatory education for all students. This includes providing support and editing for staff, students, and external partners to publish and present.
Manage the Eagle Rock blog: create and manage editorial calendar creation; draft and edit posts; ghostwriting posts for select team members; format and publishing posts; manage third-party vendors for site hosting, maintenance, and design.
Engage as a member of the professional development team: The PD Associate works together with the rest of the PD team to develop vision and strategy, and implement various initiatives and projects. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating cohorts of changemakers to cultivate capacity and connection in order to make changes that lead to liberatory education for high schoolers.
Facilitate accreditation and reauthorization processes: Facilitate accreditation processes, including written reports, annual updates, and hosting the visits from accreditation teams; every five years, compile the materials necessary to demonstrate that our alternative licensure program is in compliance with Colorado Department of Education guidelines, and host the visit for the reauthorization team.
Participate in our residential school community: Duties related to residential school membership include participating in the following: student advisory, evening and weekend duty, community meetings, chores, service projects and house teams. Willingness to serve as a residential house parent should the need arise.

Compensation
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package:

Salary range for this position: $50,000-$80,000, based on education and experience
