Job Description : Communications Coordinator Part TimePosition DescriptionTITLE: Communications Coordinator Part TimeHours: Part Time, 20 hours a weekREPORTS TO: Associate Executive DirectorSupervises: Assigned VolunteersBenefits: Work in an innovative, inspirational and well respected community foundation focused on building community assets through collaboration. The position is located at the base of the Beartooth Mountains in historic Red Lodge, MT, at the nonprofit shared services center. Salary ranges from $16.00-$17.00 an hour, DOE.Position Description OverviewThe Communications Coordinator will implement the Storytelling Cohort activities that support the four program areas of the strategic plan.The Foundation’s mission is accomplished through a strong team effort that focuses on collaboration, empowerment and professional excellence. The Foundation places equal emphasis on an employee’s skills and an employee’s attitude, recognizing the combination of exceptional skills and a positive, respectful attitude make the Foundation a special environment for its employees and constituents. To that end, our staff must have a positive attitude and engage in constructive and appropriate communication. Employees must treat their employer, its constituents and each other with respect at all times. Each employee is a vital part of the Foundation’s TEAM and plays an integral role in meeting our collective goals.SPECIFIC PROGRAM FUNCTIONS: Storytelling Cohort/Marketing/Graphic Design: (20 hour’s week)Participate in Storytelling Cohort Meetings (Average 1 hour a week)Coordinate with all program staff members on graphic design materials for various projectsProficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop required here.Coordinate with nonprofit leaders to help provide back office service of graphic design/marketingSchedule, post, and respond to social media comments and messages on Facebook and Instagram. Posts should be scheduled on Facebook, with help from the social media post form sent from team members.Community is aware of program work through all applicable communication channels.Creation of quarterly newsletter: Field stories from staff members, gather photos, provide layout and publish.Maintain the online job board and volunteer job board.Work with chalk wall artist(s) to have updated information and art outside in the spring through fall.Participate in TEAM Meetings (Average 1 hours a week)Maintain an Outlook Calendar, ClickTime, and documents into One Drive and SharePoint.Promote the Annual Fun Run for Charities, benefitting over 60 nonprofits in Carbon County.Complete all marketing and design materials by deadlines set in spring by marketing committee. Create mission statement mailer, registration mailer, sponsor poster, event posters, etc.Interface with staff Videographer/PhotographerWork closely with Fundraising Cohort to create compelling communication materials.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Ability to work independently and as part of a TEAM. Participate in Team meetings and professional development activities as requested.Strong computer skills.Proficient knowledge and experience with software programs such as MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, E-mail Clients (like Constant Contact), and WordPress.Able to champion & develop innovative principles & concepts to effect change.Strong written/verbal communication, time management, organizational and analytical skills required.Ability to identify and analyze problems and provide resolutions.Nonprofit experience helpful. A desire to work for a non-profit a huge plus.Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and ability to work effectively on teams.Ability to work with changing volunteers.Ability to take responsibility from concept to distribution.Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet moving deadlines with strong time management skills.Ability to synthesize information while progressing on multiple tracks.Neat and professional appearance.Physical, mental and emotional health adequate to perform duties.General sedentary work, but requires standing and walking in order to photocopy, file, and run errands within the community. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to maintain professional confidentiality.Other duties as assigned.Job Type: Part-timePay: $16.00 – $17.00 per hourSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
