Job Description : If you are technically skilled, detail-oriented and looking to build on your experience in Human Resources while using your familiarity with compensation systems, point-factor job evaluation systems and pay equity principles, this role with the Peel District School Board (PDSB) would be a great career move.Reporting to the Senior Partner of Compensation, you will provide effective administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient operation of the ongoing administration of the various job evaluation programs and processes for a number of unionized and non-unionized staff groups at the Board. Working collaboratively to support the Senior Partner, you will assist in the ongoing maintenance of job evaluation files (e.g. keeping track of new jobs, jobs for which evaluations are no longer required, completed job reviews, etc.), as well as the maintenance of all appropriate job evaluation records to support the job evaluation process for union and non-union positions.Your responsibilities as a Compensation Representative will also entail supporting quality improvement initiatives to streamline, automate and document job evaluation processes, supporting and scheduling fact-gathering and job evaluation committee meetings, and preparing meeting agendas, recording minutes/notes and facilitating follow-up actions. A skilled communicator, orally and in writing, you will compose correspondence for Job Evaluation and distribute to the appropriate stakeholders (e.g. Supervisor, Employee, Union Representative, etc.), liaise with stakeholders to provide and receive information, respond to general inquiries on job evaluation and initiate follow-up. Your attention to detail and accuracy will prove invaluable as you receive requests for new subject codes, verify that they are valid via the HRIS, and maintain a digital filing system.This role may require working a flexible work week during peak workload periods.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSWith a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in human resources, with a focus on utilizing Excel to use spreadsheets, create and amend calculations, and process large quantities of data relevant to compensation data, you are well prepared for the role of Compensation Representative. The following training, knowledge and abilities will also contribute to your success in this function:A minimum of Grade 12, or the equivalent, with the completion of a post-secondary HR course (as recognized by HRPA). You must be working towards the completion of a degree/diploma in Human Resources.Familiarity with compensation systems, point-factor job evaluation systems and pay equity principles.Strong computer skills in manipulating data in data management programs (e.g. Excel, HRIS).Knowledge of relevant collective agreements and school board policies and procedures.Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, troubleshooting, technical and analytical skills.Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff, union representatives and internal/external organizations.Strong written communications skills to effectively record and produce minutes of various job evaluation meetings, compose correspondences, prepare and maintain records, etc.Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities, meet timelines and maintain confidentiality.Excellent computer skills (Word, Outlook, HRIS, SharePoint).Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and anti-oppression, and to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment.ASSET: · A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, completed or in progress.Salary range: $55,065 – $68,832 per annumTo apply for the position of Compensation Representative, please complete an online application throughApply to EducationYour completed application package on Apply to Education must include your cover letter, resume and supporting educational credentials.
