We are seeking a highly motivated Contracts Operations Billing Specialist to join our finance team.
We will consider out of state candidates for this opportunity as the job can be performed remotely.
The Contracts Operations Billing Specialist is responsible for reviewing contracts, identifying pertinent information regarding billing requirements and setting up the billing process within the CU Medicine finance department. The individual in this position will perform billing, reconciliation, A/R tracking, and other activities related to third party, medical/legal, and other professional service contracts or engagements. The Contracts Operations Billing Specialist will research and follow up with third party contracting entities, business stakeholders, and team members with regard to outstanding contracts, contracts not billed or payments not received, to ensure that all contracts are fully executed, billed and collected.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Read and interpret professional services contract language, identify pertinent information regarding billing requirements, and set up appropriate billing records, invoices and related system data.
Prepare accurate and timely invoices and supporting documentation related to contract agreements and/or med-legal engagements.
Post and reconcile Accounts Receivable entries in the Microsoft AX general ledger based on professional service billings.
Research and follow up with third party contracting entities, business stakeholders, and team members with regard to outstanding contracts, contracts not billed, or payments not received.
Review and respond to inquiries regarding contracts, invoices, payments and related information and policies.
Review existing billing records for data integrity.
Assist in researching unidentified payments to ensure the revenue is paid to the correct department and provider.
Aid in the identification of variances in accounts receivable values quarterly, and prepare supporting documentation and reconciliations pertaining to A/R for the annual audit.
Assist with miscellaneous special projects, analyses and reports as assigned.
Requires a minimum of 2 years’ of high volume, transactional accounting experience. Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Accounting or business-related area is preferred; however, a high school diploma (or equivalent) with experience will be considered. Must have a strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite combined with the ability and desire to learn new systems and work with multiple systems. The ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines is required. Must also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills which are required to effectively train users, to respond to inquiries and to support team members and School of Medicine departments and providers in all aspects of contract operations.
