The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Fleet, this role is responsible for the coordination, administration and inventory management of fleet asset maintenance schedules, parts inventory and ordering, monitoring and ordering of, but not limited to, fuel, oils and grease, fleet shuttle assistance and coordination of repairs for all Town department fleet assets including Fire equipment. You will be responsible for developing, updating and maintaining City Wide for all fleet repairs, orders, parts inventory, new asset information inputs, CVOR records and disposition of fleet assets including preparation of invoices for maintenance services to other Town departments. As the Coordinator, Fleet, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

Coordinate repair schedules in City Wide with other Departmental staff and Supervisor to assist with distribution of repairs between Fleet Technicians.
Maintain inventory of all parts including, but not limited to fuel, oil, and grease and update inventory in City Wide as new parts arrive and parts are used including coordinating management of AVL equipment in all equipment.
Coordinate the pricing quotations, acquisition and delivery of new parts or equipment, outsourced repairs and warranty work with outside dealers.
Review delivery packing slips for parts and materials ordered against invoice to ensure invoice is correct including approving invoices.
Maintain all fleet asset records, investigate new fleet specifications and prepare and update fleet tender specifications.

COVID-19: The successful candidate for Coordinator, Fleet will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an energetic professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Asset Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology and/or Civil Engineering Technology or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of one (1) year of fleet management and/or fleet maintenance supervision experience and certification. The ideal candidate has the ability to obtain Certification, within 3-5 years, in Fleet Management with the American Public Works Association or equivalent.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated organizational skills, superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and excellent verbal and written communication.

This position offers a salary range of $69,760.10 to $82,695.28 plus a competitive benefit package.

Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.

New employees who commence employment on or after November 15, 2021 are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as a condition of employment. Being fully vaccinated is determined as the status of having received the full series of approved vaccines (both doses of a two dose vaccine series, one dose of a single dose vaccine series) and any additional doses required and approved by Health Canada and having satisfied the full post vaccination period required to ensure vaccination efficacy. The Town of Caledon reserves the right to request proof of vaccination at any time. Acceptable proof includes an Ontario Ministry of Health COVID-19 vaccine receipt which you can obtain through the Provincial portal https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/, or other government-issued vaccine passport or certification. The requirement to be fully vaccinated is subject to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
