Job Description : Founded in 1990 and located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Ronan, Montana, Rocky Mountain Twist is the leading US manufacturer and provider of innovative, high quality power tool accessories to the retail market and engineered drilling solutions to the industrial marketplace.
We are currently seeking a cost accountant to join our Accounting Department. The Cost Accountant is responsible for cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and other duties as assigned. The Cost Accountant also assists the Controller with support and backup of other accounting functions. This is a fast paced environment and attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
Cost Accountant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting
Perform accounting, analysis & reporting of manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, overhead, freight & product development costs.
Assist with the establishment of standard costing rates.
Compare actual costs to estimates and work closely with other departments on determining causes & corrective actions.
Perform margin analysis & reporting, including review of products, customers & company divisions.
Inventory & Fixed Asset Management
Coordinate physical inventory and/or cycle counts.
Investigate inventory counting variances and resolve issues.
Reporting & analysis of inventory turnover, including highlight of slow moving, non-conforming & obsolete parts
Fixed asset accounting, including physical counts & tracking asset utilization.
Analyze capital budgeting requests & track capital project spending & progress.
General Accounting
Assist with the month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Assist with banking & cash management activities.
Provide back-up & support for other accounting functions as needed, including special projects as assigned.
Cost Accountant Minimum Education and Experience:
BS degree in Accounting preferred, BA acceptable
