Job Description : Position Title: CourierDepartment: Adlera LabSupervisor: Lab ManagerSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummary: As a part of the Clinical Lab team with Adlera Lab, the Courier will pick up, deliver and transport specimens, lab reports and/or related medical documents, and other medical items. Travel will occur primarily within the State of Montana. The Courier will drive and facilitate the transport of specimens and related documents in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures between medical agencies, clinical sites and lab locations. This position is responsible for following a strict schedule to ensure timely pickup and delivery of specimens and other relevant materials. Requires the utilization of organizational tracking systems, including electronic and paper methods, and compliance with policies and protocols relating to safely storing and transporting specimens. Responsible for pick-up, transportation and delivery of specimens and packages accurately and in accordance with established schedule from medical, lab and other healthcare facilities;2. Ensures timely, safe, and accurate delivery in accordance with established schedule, year-round in all weather conditions;3. Ensures specimens and other related item/s are securely stored in the delivery vehicle;4. Handles all specimens and other related items in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all appropriate handling policies, procedures and guidelines;5. Ensures receipt, accuracy and integrity of documentation corresponding to each specimen or item;6. Provides excellent customer service while providing services within the scope of their duties;7. Ensures signature on delivery receipts and in accordance with established policies and procedures for receiving agencies;8. Safely operates company vehicle, evaluates weather conditions, and obeys all traffic laws;9. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information according to HIPAA, patient privacy practices, organizational policies and procedures and State and Federal guidelines;10. Ability to work unsupervised, with emphasis on timeliness, customer service and punctuality;11. Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with vendors, fellow employees;12. Participates in quality improvement programs and activities;13. Performs duties efficiently and effectively;14. Adhere’s to Adlera Lab and Alluvion Health’s policies and procedures, State and Federal laws and all other appropriate compliance guidelines;15. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.Physical Requirements: · Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
