Job Description : What’s the ask?Reporting to the Supervisor, the Data Entry Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate input of information, including name, date of birth, address, salary, dependents, beneficiaries, coverage type and more, into Cowan’s administration systems. It’s a support role to help maintain the information in members’ files.Specifically, the Data Entry Clerk will:Perform duties relating to filing, photocopying, preparing enrolment kits and printing certificates of insurance;Update and manage the database system;Respond to customer emails in a timely professional manner;Support the Administrative Services Agents in various clerical tasks, such as preparing correspondence and confidential documents.What does it take?Precision and speed in data entry;Capable of typing 60 / wpm with high accuracy;Professional writing skills to respond to emails correctly;Attention to detail & organized self-starter;Ability to learn different technological systems;Capacity to respect work deadlines;Ability to work in a team as well as independently;Knowledge in Windows, MS Office, e-mail and internet required.Bilingual in English & French, a strong assetNOTESThis role will require attendance in our Ottawa office a few days a week while working from home other days35 hour workweek with the possibility of overtime on occassionWho we areCanadian-owned and operated, Cowan Insurance Group is a leading independent insurance brokerage and consulting operation, providing real value to our clients.
