Ziff Davis’s Campaigner product empowers our customers to drive sales and revenue using multi-channel marketing automation by creating personalized, 1:1 interactions through powerful email & SMS automation workflows that drive incremental revenue, engagement, and increased customer life time value. With nearly 4 BILLION emails & SMS messages being sent from this SaaS product every month, you will have the opportunity to work on a high volume and highly scalable platform in the latest and greatest technologies.
The Campaigner team is looking for a highly motivated Database Administrator to help grow our business and brand by delivering high quality features and continuously improving our platform. You will push your DBA skills and expand your abilities while working on multiple projects with one of the best DevOps teams you’ll ever meet.
Our team is located in Ottawa, Ontario but we are open to having individuals work remote from anywhere within Canada in the Eastern Time Zone.
What You Will Do:
Work with senior DBA to manage both on premise Microsoft SQL Server and AWS RDS instances in a high volume HA environment.
Ensure the change control process is followed for changes to production SQL environments.
Proactively monitor and manage database. Identify, analyze, and resolve database performance, capacity, replication and other database issues. Tune the database to support the application.
Work with development team to design and ensure performance and scalability of platform. Review SQL code and recommend optimizations while enforcing best practices and database standards are adhered to by development team.
Manage disaster recovery planning and testing.
Provide 24/7 on-call responsibilities on a rotating schedule.
Support security initiatives including database auditing and audit evidence preparation.
Experience We Want To See:
Hands on experience managing multiple SQL Server instances in a high volume HA platform.
Experience supporting/implementing SQL 2012 and higher in a combination of cloud-based, distributed, and on-prem database implementations.
Extensive experience with SQL database tuning and optimization.
Experience with SQL Replication, Always On/Log Shipping, and Database Mirroring.
Excellent knowledge of TSQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Triggers.
Experience automating SQL Server administration tasks and workflows.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
5-10 years working as a DBA.
Nice to Have:
Experience and/or knowledge with different databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
Experience and/or knowledge with NoSQL databases like Redis and MongoDB.
Prior experience with delivery of commercial Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) products.
Experience with product delivery methodologies, especially Agile development.
Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting and Automation
