Job Description : Job Purpose: Helps clients and families by identifying and resolving or ameliorating needs. To be responsible to the Supervisor and Lead and to participate in the caring tasks of the team throughout daily operations.Principal DutiesAssist individuals in addressing everyday personal needs such as toileting, bathing and grooming.Respect the individual’s confidentiality and privacyPromote a positive, friendly, safe, and healthy environment for all staff and residentProvide care according to the established plan of care ensuring that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent.Promote healthy living including physical and mental activity, healthy eating and client engagementTo provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which people can feel secure and free from harm.Establishing positive relationships with individuals and always offer them unconditional and positive regard.Helping individuals gain self control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.Attending to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home etc.)Other ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and promote within the workforce the importance of Sec.26 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it applies to the workforce of MSCS including;Use of protective equipment (including PPE) and compliance with organizational and legislated regulations to promote safety in the workplaceReporting of defective or broken safety equipment and any contraventions to the OHSA to their Health and Safety representative in a timely manner.Understand the requirements of good housekeeping and report concerns through the appropriate channels.Understand the Medication Policy. Administer drugs and ensure secure control and storagePromote good relations with local community and support volunteers, relatives and caregivers.Any other duties within the scope of the home.General RequirementsTake responsibility for the safeguarding of all individuals in care, and follow the Duty to Report policy as required.Participate in staff meeting and training activities.Participate in all quality assurance systemsTake responsibility for personal development by keeping abreast of developments in the field of caring for our clients.College Diploma in any of the following disciplines (or equivalent work experience):Developmental Service WorkerSocial Services WorkerChild Youth WorkerPersonal Support workerCommunity and Justice ServicesPolice FoundationJob Type: Full-timeSalary: From $20.00 per hourBenefits:Extended health careSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:All staff wear goggles and masks when working with clients, No new clients coming in currently, staff can only work at 2 locations, all PPE is provided by MSCS.Experience:Support Care: 1 year (preferred)Licence/Certification:G2 drivers License?
