About the Role
Orchard is looking for a Director of Business Operations to drive operational excellence and efficiency throughout the business. You will report to Margaret Tait Routt, Orchard’s Head of Business Operations, and work closely with the Operations, Finance, Product, and Sales teams to identify and execute on areas of upside, while balancing customer satisfaction, growth, and profitability. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience at a startup or fast-growing company bringing strategic initiatives from ideation to implementation.
This is a full time role that can be based out of our growing New York City, Austin, Denver, or Atlanta offices.
What You’ll Do Here:

Lead end-to-end strategic business initiatives enabling Orchard to scale effectively and efficiently by:
Working with internal leadership to identify and evaluate potential opportunities from a strategic, operational, and financial perspective Developing quantitative analyses, creatively using available internal data, to prioritize identified opportunities Designing and deploying prioritized initiatives, spearheading project management across functional silos
Drive long-term strategic planning for the business in conjunction with senior executives, the finance team, and operating teams, with a particular focus on prioritizing value across a variety of potential initiatives
Become an expert resource on all aspects of Orchard’s internal operations, service delivery models, and unit economics
Be an intellectual sparring partner to leaders across the company

We’d Love to Hear From You if You Have:

At least 7+ years professional experience in a strategic operations function, either at a high-growth start-up, or in a management consulting or PE/VC investing role
A passion for creative, data-driven problem solving, including but not limited to: process design, cost/benefit analysis, and root cause analysis – a high intellectual “clock speed” is essential for success
Demonstrated track record of driving change and major impact on an organization
Significant cross-functional project management experience with ability to independently work through obstacles and manage to deadlines
Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) allowing you to build collaborative relationships across departments, from the analyst to the executive level
Enthusiasm for tackling ambiguity with a bias toward action
A growth mindset, excited about developing as a leader within a quickly scaling organization
Advanced Excel skills structuring and building rigorous, quantitative models in order to drive strategic decision making

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $180,000 /year. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base pay information is based on market location.
