DSST Public Schools (DSST) seeks a Substitute Teacher to join one of the leading charter school organizations in the nation. We serve 6-12 th grade students across Denver and Aurora. Overview of Position :
DSST Substitute Teachers provide exceptional support to our teachers and students by providing half-day or full-day instruction for vacancies across our 15 schools. As a Substitute Teacher, you will have the flexibility to choose the positions that suit your interests and experiences best. Our Substitutes can serve up to five days per week – the perfect role for someone looking for flexibility and a meaningful way to support educational equity in Denver.

Essential functions :

Demonstrate relentless drive to improve the minds and lives of students.
Take holistic accountability for students success – take ownership of each student’s academic progress.
Live and model the school’s core values with colleagues, students, parents, and the larger community.
Reinforce the school’s core values, guiding philosophy, rules, and school spirit.
Execute on daily lesson plans.
Support school operations by adhering to school policies for attendance, operations, and expectations.

Required : DSST Public Schools seeks candidates with strong character, passion for excellence and a relentless commitment to student achievement.

Previous full-time teaching or substitute teaching is preferred.
Experience working with students grades 6-12 is preferred.
Student teachers are encouraged to apply.

Vaccine Requirement:

Per the public health order made by Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) on August 2, 2021, all personnel of schools must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by September 30, 2021. To comply with the DDPHE Public Health Order, all DSST employees, contractors and volunteers must be fully vaccinated by September 30, 2021. The DDPHE Public Health Order allows employers to consider and, in appropriate circumstances, grant requests for medical and religious accommodations related to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

Physical Demands :
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The employee must lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds. The employee must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

DSST Public Schools (DSST) operates a network of tuition-free, open-enrollment public STEM charter schools. DSST schools operate within the Denver Public Schools (DPS) and Aurora Public Schools (APS) districts.
