Job Description : Hiring Range: $33.03 – $41.29
PLEASE NOTE: The hiring range applies to US-based employment and may be higher in certain US geographic locations.
This executive assistant is a member of the executive office team and serves the chief executive by building and maintaining significant internal and external relationships, handling multiple competing demands for the executive’s time and attention, communicating effectively on their behalf, and confidently yet graciously interacting with global staff, global executive and leadership teams, board members, members of the Global Partner Alliance, marketing and fundraising teams, and many significant external relationships. The assistant strategically and efficiently prioritizes demands for the CEO’s time to manage his complex schedule, including extensive domestic and international travel requirements, and adapts with grace and understanding when priorities change as new opportunities arise. If subordinate staff are assigned, the assistant will perform leadership and supervision duties.
PLEASE NOTE: This position is based in Colorado Springs at the Global Ministry Center.
What will you do?
Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

Assist the CEO by handling a wide variety of administrative functions such as managing email and calendar, meeting logistics, travel, correspondence, invoices and expense reports. May record notes and action items for meetings as needed.
Proactively manage the CEO’s schedule, prioritizing requests for the executive’s time and coordinating all personal, staff meetings, and external meetings. Strategically schedule the most significant requests and distributes others to alternate staff to handle on the executive’s behalf.
Actively manage the executive’s public email and all other written correspondence. Draft and edit a variety of internal and external correspondence and communications.
Document all speaking requests and actively participates to strategically accept the most significant opportunities. Equip the executive with complete details to ensure they are fully prepared in advance of each meeting or event, or communicate the opportunity to alternate staff as appropriate.
Maintain detailed records for the executive office, with specific care given to the ministry’s historical archives.
Coordinate high-profile guest visits including prioritizing and scheduling appointments with staff, making travel arrangements, assisting with meeting preparation, and coordinating refreshments. Serve as host and guide to special visitors.
Provide limited support to the President Emeritus including managing email, correspondence, travel arrangements and expense reports.
What do you bring?
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
At least seven years’ experience in an administrative assistant role, including supporting a CEO.
Global experience a plus.
Conversational Spanish a plus.
Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above
