Job Description : OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES: (See full Job Description for additional information & requirements)
Manages all RFTA facilities assets and Facilities technicians. This position is required to insure that all RFTA facilities are kept in a state of good repair and are maintained in a professional manner. Assures appropriate steps are taken to implement objectives set by Assistant Director and Director of Facilities; keeps Assistant Director informed of decisions, actions and results. This position is managerial in nature and incumbent is expected to spend 40% of their time working from the office and 60% of their time in the field over the course of a year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Responsible for insuring that the positions direct reports, employees and subcontractors under their supervision perform their work in a safe and professional manner, providing all necessary safety training and instruction.
2. Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day supervisory and administrative duties that are customarily required to professionally manage the facilities department.
3. Responsible for the implementation of the department’s capital replacement program, the management of new construction projects up to $100,000 and the acquisition of new facilities equipment.
4. Responsible for insuring the use of RFTA’s Enterprise Assets Management system (EAM) system by the facilities maintenance staff and accuracy of the EAM data input.
5. Monitors, maintains and repairs RFTA assets and facilities using preventative practices including daily, weekly and monthly, inspections.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in project management, business or engineering or equivalent knowledge
Five Years of Supervisory Experience
Three Years of Project Management Experience
Five Years of Facilities Management Experience
Excellent mechanical aptitude and knowledge, with a minimum five (5) years’ experience in at least four (4) of the following fields are required: painting, drywall, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, heavy equipment operation, or electrical.
Expert supervisory and managerial skills and ability to guide and motivate employees in a positive working environment
Advanced computer skills and data entry ability.
Excellent ability to understand, speak, read, and write English, and to clearly communicate with others.
Ability to safely operate all equipment associated with Facilities and Grounds, including man lifts, scissors lifts, fork lifts, bob cats and snow plows.
Knowledge of safe material handling and routine maintenance working practices.
Ability to learn how to operate all equipment associated with the Facilities and Grounds Department.
Solid ability to perform the physical work requirements of this job, which includes manual labor and operation of machinery.
Must understand and adhere to departmental, organizational, and industry safety standards and practices, including ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions on MSDS, product labels, employee and emergency safety manuals.
