Position : Field Crew – Custom Residential Construction
Job Description : SUMMARY OF POSITION:
To provide on-site support for all phases of residential construction projects, including working alongside subcontractors, moving materials, and use of equipment / tools. The Field Crew position will help projects progress smoothly from phase to phase. Responsible for supporting the Iron Forest Project Manager, helping trades, coordinating material deliveries, quality control, and jobsite safety. This position will report directly to the Project Management Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Aid Project Managers in site tasks and vendor deliveries to ensure timely completion of project phases.
Although not required, Applicants should have a background in residential construction focusing on high-end custom construction projects from the ground-up.
Ability to recognize work that does not meet quality standards onsite and help coordinate a resolution.
Clearly communicate daily with the Iron Forest Project Manager on tasks and progress as-needed.
Ability to work efficiently and autonomously to make decisions that are consistent to the values of Iron Forest Building.
Ensure job sites are always kept in a clean and organized manner with finish specs / safety signage posted on walls.
Ability to plan 1 week in advance to help avoid delays / hang-ups.
Perform Field Crew duties for up to 2-3 custom projects simultaneously.
Maintain a detailed log of time spent on each project and assign to relevant cost codes (provided by IFB)
Assist in snow removal, jobsite cleaning, and must be willing to be hands-on with site organization as needed.
Ability to identify areas of work that fall outside of the subcontractor’s scope.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES DESIRED:
Communication – Quality communication is critical to this (and every) position at Iron Forest Building Co.
Ability to communicate clearly (even when frustrated) and able to communicate in a calm demeanor when others are frustrated. Ability to focus on solving a conflict, listen to others without interrupting, and not resort to playing the “blame game”. Iron Forest Building approaches projects in a “same team” manner with our trades.
Can write / type clearly and informatively with correct spelling and grammar.
Physical Requirements – Field Crew employees must be capable of physically lifting 100lbs occasionally and moving / lifting 50lbs on a regular / daily basis.
Ability to work in extreme cold conditions and remove snow when necessary onsite.
Travel – Must have a valid driver’s license, can travel to / from the jobsite, and for the occasional errand off the jobsite during the day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
