We nurture an inclusive, supportive, and genuinely kind work environment at our three campus locations and remotely.If you want to shine a light on academic excellence, be empowered to make an impact on the transformation of the Canadian post-secondary education landscape, and work collaboratively beyond levels, join us.Who we needThe Financial Aid Officer advises students on payment terms and funding options to attend or remain in studies, educates learners about the options available, and assists in the application.The Financial Aid Officer is required to undergo province specific financial aid training and must have working knowledge of provincial financial aid requirements.The Financial Aid Officer requires accuracy and timeliness in data entry and a facility for working with both people and numbers.What’s in it for youBenefits:- Dental care- Extended health care- Vision care- Paid time offWhat you will do: – Inform and advise both prospective and current students and parents regarding the school’s terms of payment and various available financial aid programs; explain application procedures, administrative policies and student responsibilities.- Guide students through the assessment and appeal processes; keeping students informed of the status of their financial aid.- Create and maintain individual student files in a manner consistent with government record keeping requirements and internal school policies; track all financial aid documents activities; follow up with students regarding incomplete files or missing information; authorize release of financial aid funds by verifying compliance with program requirements, signing certificates, schedules and confirmations of enrolment.- Counsel students on consequences of early withdrawals/program changes and impacts to their student loans/grants.- Timely invoicing of students for tuition and related fees; receiving and processing payments from students; follow up with students regarding outstanding payments.- Provide regular, timely activity reports; keep the Director of Student Finance informed of any issues, concerns or additional requirements of student’s financial aid.- In a clear, user-friendly, professional, courteous manner, provide the services of the Financial Aid Office including up-to-date program information to various parties, including applicants, students and internal staff.What you bring: – Post-secondary education in a relevant field.- One year’s experience in a customer service role.- Previous experience in administration of financial aid at a private post-secondary school would be preferred.- Working knowledge of provincial financial aid requirements would be an asset.- Excellent written, oral and electronic communication and interpersonal skills.- Strong organizational, analytical & time management skills.- Ability to work both independently and closely with others, balancing multiple priorities.- Accuracy and timeliness in data entry.- A facility for working with both people and numbersWhat does the best of all worlds mean at Yorkville Education?- An atmosphere that successfully blends an entrepreneurial culture with education.
