Job Summary: The Guest Services’ objective is to aid in the check-in, comfort, and departure of guests and owners. Duties will be performed in a friendly and professional manner to the benefit of the guests staying at any of the WMRL managed properties. The outside service objective is to provide visually pleasing and safe grounds for arriving Owners and Guests staying in WMRL properties. Assist in the removal of snow and garbage in properties managed by WMRL. The Front Desk is located along the Kintla boardwalk in the upper village.
Job Relationships: Reports to: Front Desk Manager & Asst. Manager Employees Supervised: None
Job Specifications: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Experience in lodging or resort specific front desk duties and guest service preferred. Office clerical experience preferred, including MS Office, copy/fax, RTP, Streamline High quality Guest Services experience, 3 yr minimum preferred Knowledge of Local area preferred Grounds crew or landscaping experience preferred Must be able to work with a diverse group of people and be able to remain calm and professional in handling a variety of tasks and stressful situations. Must be self starter and able to work independently with little supervision. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Multi-task in fast paced environment while potentially adjusting priorities to customer concerns with the highest level of customer service. Demonstrate ability to cross sell other departments and businesses at the resort to our guests. Must be willing to take responsibility for independently providing personal safety and participate in company safety program Per WSI Vehicle Insurance standards: must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to be added to WSI’s vehicle insurance policy. Must be able to work safely within OHSA guidelines for Hazardous Materials for the purposes of mixing fuels and oils, fertilizer applications, herbicides and pesticides. Work within the framework of the company and department policies and procedures as set forth in the employee manuals. Requires working weekends, evenings, and holidays. Overtime may be required during peak demand times. Requests at the discretion of management and limited.
Specific Duties: Assist in garbage removal, snow removal, and grounds maintenance at the units on a schedule a minimum of twice weekly. Operates and maintains the following seasonal maintenance equipment and mixes fuel, utilizing fuel dispensing system as needed: – Mower, Walker, radius mower, String Trimmers, Chain saws, Hand Blowers/Hedge Trimmers, leaf blowers, power rakes, power washers, snow blowers Provide administrative support to managers, including record keeping, reporting, and billing. Ability to use Streamline to interact with reservations, answer guest inquires, and complete related tasks to arrival and departure. Assist guests when they arrive and depart in a manner consistent with procedure Communicate professionally using the internet, MS Office, Teams and Sharepoint Provide thorough information to guests inquiring about the Resort and the surrounding area(s). Clean the public areas of the Lodging Check In and the vehicles daily Sell, clean, receive, stock and face product in Village Market Complete assigned projects including; property secures, package delivery, technology troubleshooting, minor maintenance, deliveries, linen resupply and shuttles throughout each day Be alert to changing environmental conditions and take appropriate action to provide a safe experience for yourself, the guests, as well as protecting the investment of the owner. Emphasize customer service and safety in all aspects of operation and participate in ongoing training opportunities to maintain standards. Acquire knowledge specific to individual properties managed by WMRL. Acquire a detailed knowledge of other departments and businesses at the resort, and effectively communicate that information to the guest. A professional appearance will be always expected including in radio and phone communications. A courteous, helpful attitude will be displayed at all times to all guests and employees. Responsible for aiding with cash management, counting the bank, and cash reconciliation Perform additional activities as assigned by Manager. Willingness to learn/perform all positions related to the Lodging Check In operations to better provide services to guests. Ability to aid guests with technology and computer issues Perform other tasks as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the department.
Work Environment: Moderate physical activity to include constant bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs, and stretching. On a frequent basis handling objects from 20- 50 pounds. Ability to be on one’s feet for extended time periods up to 8 hours daily. Ability to sit/stand at a computer workstation for periods of up to 2 hours daily. Drive company vehicles in the performance of daily duties. Ability to work under varying weather conditions, often extreme in nature. Requires use of approved chemical cleaning agents on a daily basis. Cleaning supplies may require use of potentially hazardous chemicals. Proper training of the use of these chemicals will be provided and safety data sheets will be available for each chemical used in the workplace. Operate efficiently in an office setting, using computers to communicate and aid guests Flexibility in schedule changes on short notice is required. Non-smoking environment.
Safety & Wellness:
All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity
