Job Description : Health and Safety Site Consultant – Focus on COR™Safety First Consulting Professional Corporation provides health and safety consulting services to various industry sectors throughout Ontario. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual with expertise in Construction Health and Safety to join our team. Our workers are valued and supported to provide the best service in the safety industry.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConduct site health & safety inspections for low-rise AND high-rise construction projectsEnforce OHSA, regulations, and employer-specific safety requirementsDevelop, coordinate, and conduct training programsEnsure health and safety compliance for constructors, trades, and subcontractorsDevelop and conduct health and safety orientation for workers, trades and subcontractorsDevelop and conduct safety talks with workers on various health and safety topicsDevelop and distribute safety memos and alerts, when requiredAssist clients with coordination and completion of Joint Health & Safety Committees and Worker Trades CommitteesCreate customized traffic control plans in accordance with construction regulations, municipal requirements, and MTO Book 7Advise clients (management, supervisors, and workers) on compliance with OHSA & regulationsAdvise on and develop site-specific safe work procedures and job hazard analysis for high-risk tasksComplete full investigations and follow up implementation of corrective actions for various types of incidents (near misses, medical injuries, critical injuries)Liaison with Ministry of Labour representatives during site visitsEnsure timely compliance with Ministry of Labour ordersDevelopment of standard and custom H&S programs, policies, and guidelinesFull implementation and maintenance of health & safety management systems (including COR™) on construction projectsTracking and review of subcontractor H&S submissions for completion and accuracy (SWPs, JHAs, daily task hazard analysis, hot work permits)REQUIREMENTS3-5 years’ experience in construction health and safety is requiredMinimum 3 years’ practical experience in COR™ program development and implementation is requiredHighly knowledgeable of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Construction Regulation 213/91Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety preferredCommunicates and interacts effectively with on site staff, visitors, subcontractors, trades, clients and vendorsStrong multi-tasking skills and time management skill, with the ability to efficiently attend to tight deadlinesExcellent attention to detail and accuracyEffective organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From $65,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:Overtime payBenefits:Casual dressCompany eventsDental careExtended health careLife insurancePaid time offRRSP matchVision careWork from homeSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftOvertimeWeekend availabilityExperience:Construction: 3 years (required)Licence/Certification:NCSO (preferred)Willingness to travel:50% (required)
