Thiess is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators (Excavator/Loader) to support our mining team on our Project site near Denver, Colorado. The Excavator/Loader operator would operate large excavator and wheel loader in an open-cut mining environment in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
*Under direct supervision, the Excavator Operator performs earthmoving duties on a daily basis
Must have working knowledge of overburden handling, ore and soil segregation, while maintaining grade
General knowledge of hydraulic principles
Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing PPE
Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations
*ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: *
*High School Diploma or equivalent
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
*3 to 5 years’ experience operating excavator and loader
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Work with other project employees to meet the project’s safety, environment, and production targets
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
*Demonstrated ability to achieve results within a team environment with minimal supervision at times.
Good oral and written communication skills
High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
The ability to work in a team environment
Mining or heavy industrial construction experience considered an asset
Ability and willingness to work different schedule on site based on project needs
5 or more years of experience in mining, or related industry
Post-high school training in a related area

Work schedule: 7 on / 7 off, rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights)
Fly in / Fly Out (FIFO) – Preference for a candidate who lives near Denver, Colorado
Base pay $30.00 – $37.00 / hour USD + $7.00 / hour USD project premium
