Job Description : We are looking for a motivated, self-driven Hotel Manager for one of our select service branded hotels. As the Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily hotel operations and providing overall leadership in the hotel, continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability for our stakeholders. We are looking for a hands-on professional with a passion for quality, service and excellence. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards. The position of the Hotel Manager requires the employees to work 50-55 hours per week, on days and at times including weekends determined at the sole discretion of the Monte Carlo Inns and includes but is not limited to the following duties:RESPONSIBILITIES:Communicates effectively with team.Is cost conscious and maintains control over billing, inventory and departmental expensesUnderstands the marketing plan, catering operating budget and strives to meet and exceed forecasted standardsIs visible and accessible to clients and staffWorks with the management team to develop service and profit-oriented goals for the hotelUses time efficiently, organizes catering staff scheduleIs familiar with the facilities, rates and menus of the competitorsIn appearance, demeanor and conduct sets an example for the employees and a standard for the image of the hotelHas a full understanding and ability to follow the guidelines of the Collective AgreementIs active in community affairs & associations that contribute to the support of the hotels profile in the market placeEnsure that any and all new personnel are properly oriented and trained and that continuous development programs are established, implemented and maintained within the catering departmentProvides a monthly forecast report to the corporate office.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 5 years of hotel experience in hospitality industryPost secondary education in hotel managementComputer literacy (excel, word, group booking systems, internet, email etc.)Highly energetic, aggressive self-starter and well-developed sales skills including excellent negotiation, prospecting, presentation, and verbal & written communication skillsStrong organization skills and detail orientedCommitment to superior customer serviceWorks well under pressureConforming to the hotel’s established standards of dress, grooming and personal hygiene as it pertains to Managerial Staff.Working with the sales team in respect to developing strong sales & successful marketing strategies.Working with the supervisory staff to ensure that hotel operational policies and procedures are maintained.Working with sales team to ensure that property management, internet and third-party rates are being effectively managed to ensure that revenue maximized.Assisting the sales team to ensure that our existing corporate client base is retained.Liaison with our corporate customers via phone/email or personal visits. A daily log must be maintained with each client that is called, emailed or personally visited, with a target minimum of 3 to 4 contacts each dayCompleting daily bank deposits as required.Managing the accounts receivables and payable as required.Oversee group and banquet and catering salesManaging departmental schedules to ensure cost control of payroll is maintained.Covering shifts in the event of an emergency.Working closely with restaurant operation to ensure that brand standards are maintained in product and service.Hiring, training, coaching and skill development of existing and new staff members.Working with maintenance staff to ensure that overall property is maintained within brand standards, including routine inspection of the hotel to determine the need for repairs of furniture, fixtures and equipment. Ensure records are kept of sub-standard issues and are reported to the corporate office. Be proactive in identifying upcoming issues.Fostering a strong team environment with the hotel and restaurant staffLiaison with department heads on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to determine the most effective strategies are being implemented for capturing revenue and exceeding budgetary targets.Liaison with department heads to ensure that revenues and departmental and operating expenses meet within preset budget standards.Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $54,000.00-$57,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:Bonus payBenefits:Extended health care
