Job Description : City Experiences is seeking a Housekeeper for our City Cruises Toronto operation in Toronto.
About You:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.
About the Opportunity:
The Housekeeping member will arrive on time for their shift and start prepping the boats for a day on the water. Scrubbing decks, cleaning windows, polishing brass are typically the start of the day, a quick and effective cleaning of the interior of the boats after a cruise to prepare it for the evening cruise is part of the afternoon tasks. The housekeeping crew will personally contribute to the unforgettable guest experience, be favorably viewed by supervisors and peers, and be swift and efficient in the execution of their assigned duties. Performance will be measured by guest and mystery shopper satisfaction surveys, departmental tests, management evaluation, and feedback from peers on the service team. Knowing how to clean and enjoying this type of work is an essential quality of Housekeeping members. Working safely with cleaning products and at the waters edges is very important, too.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Keeps the vessels in cruise-ready condition
Identify, assess and address areas that need extra attention
Ability to work alone or with others to complete list of cleaning task
Lift and move equipment and furniture from one vessel to another as directed
Dispose of garbage and recycling to the appropriate receptacles
Maintain a health and safety focused approach while working onboard
Assist the Food & Beverage team at setting floorplans and table settings as needed
Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time
Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty
Requirements & Qualifications:
O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
Previous cleaning experience preferred
Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
Ability to deal with shifting priorities
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers
Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others
Will work for extended periods of time without sitting
Required to lift furniture and other heavy items up and down stairs
Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays
If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. non-slip shoes, gloves, goggles, weather appropriate dress attire)
This position requires crew members to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 per Public Health Agency of Canada recommendations or approved for a Human Rights accommodation
