JOB SUMMARY

The HR Business Services Branch operates as an internal consulting practice, working closely with business leaders and managers to support business strategy and sustained performance. The Branch provides proactive, strategic and operational support and advice to managers and staff in the following areas: business people strategy and analytics, business workforce planning and implementation, organizational design and job evaluation, talent acquisition, performance management, workplace safety, organizational health, disability management, accommodations and WSIB.
Your primary responsibilities include:
coordinating claims/complaints from City employees as a result of a workplace safety;
submitting report forms to appropriate resource within required timelines;
verifying files are complete with all relevant documentation including materials and final decisions documenting the resolution and closure of the claim/complaint; and
providing general administrative support to the team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 1 year post-secondary education/certificate in Human Resources or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of related Human Resources administration experience.

KNOWLEDGE
Relevant regulations and legislation pertaining to human resources
ATIP policy, regulations and processes
General office procedures and equipment
Database and records management practices and techniques
Computer applications, including MS Office, HR systems, Electronic Records Management System Occupational Health & Safety policies and legislation
WSIB and disability management/accommodation protocols,
Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, Human Rights and Canada Labour Code including the rights and duties of workers.

Excellent organization and able to manage multiple priorities
Able to meet schedules and deadlines, prioritizing work, strict attention to detail and accuracy in records maintenance.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
