Position : Human Resources Coordinator
Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs human resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: onboarding, employee information and reporting, benefit administration and communication and general HR duties. Confidentiality of all information and a professional company image is required at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Onboarding:
Assist new hires with all questions related to onboarding
Complete the new hire set up in the HRIS system: Review new employee documentation to ensure accuracy and completion, follow-up with site admins and new hires for missing documents
Maintain constant communication with site management and administration about timing and placement of new and rehires
Complete equipment requests in a timely manner to ensure employees have tools necessary for success
Arrange travel as needed for new hires and applicants
Employee Information and Reporting:
Maintain tracking system for new hires, data entry of personnel information, review forms and assist with I-9 compliance
Maintain all employee-related files including individual personnel files and records of insurance coverage, hires, promotions, wage changes, transfers, terminations
Key incoming employee status changes: transfers, title changes, etc.
Research employee issues (payroll, wages, personnel issues, etc.)
Complete forms and questionnaires from various public agencies requesting verification of employment, insurance coverage and income status, etc.; prepare all the above letters, documents, etc. to be mailed or faxed
Benefit Administration and Communication:
Communication with payroll employee deductions and status
Assist in conducting open enrollment annually for all benefit plans and monthly for employees meeting eligibility
Promote education regarding company benefit programs to all employees
Respond to employee questions as they relate to MasTec’s benefits programs
General Human Resources:
Understand, keep abreast of and comply with federal, state and local employment laws
Support company policies and guidelines
Assist in all areas of HR and complete other duties/projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent in Human Resources from two-year college or technical school
Minimum of one-year HR experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward MasTec’s Zero Injury principles
Outstanding Customer service skills
Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
A strong affinity for building relationships
Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees
Must be able to multi-task
Data entry accuracy is of the utmost importance
Salary Range: $24.74 – $38.40 per hour
