To address this issue, OTEC directs tourism and hospitality workforce development efforts across the province. In this capacity, OTEC leads Tourism SkillsNet Ontario – an award-winning alliance of industry partners comprised of more than 120 organizations and 17 regions across Ontario – working collaboratively to align provincial workforce strategy with local industry-specific regional labour challenges.Position SummaryThis is a 12-month contract with the opportunity to extend.OTEC is seeking a motivated individual to support the industry and community development initiatives within the Tourism SkillsNet Ontario (TSNO) network. You will be supporting two Industry & Community Liaisons with community outreach and development including, but not limited to, meeting coordination, communications, monitoring and evaluation, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team player. Meticulous attention to detail and a positive, solutions-focused attitude will be required to be successful in this newly developed role.Note: While the OTEC office is located in the Greater Toronto Area, candidates in Northern, Southwestern and Eastern Ontario are encouraged to apply as this is a remote position.ResponsibilitiesProject & Program SupportContribute to the execution of sector-based projects.Support project launch meetings and ongoing project planning meetings.Adhere to and maintain project sub-plans.Support monthly monitoring and reporting on project milestones, outcomes, and impact.Support the planning and execution of project communications, marketing and outreach leveraging industry and stakeholder networks and cross-promoting OTEC’s full suite of projects, products and services.Monitor and collect project information and prepare progress reports to help inform ongoing planning and implementation.Liaise with internal learning and development and projects teams for training coordination and logistics.Stakeholder EngagementSupport ongoing relationships with Tourism SkillsNet Ontario’s (TSNO) diverse partner base, including; i) tourism and hospitality businesses/employers; ii) industry associations; iii) employment and training organizations; iv) government and community stakeholders.Provide information and educate stakeholders on current TSNO initiatives through activities such as: distributing brochures; answering queries or referring stakeholders to other OTEC team members; and by acting as a steward of relationships with specific partners, where required.Monitor incoming requests from TSNO members and action appropriately.Support Industry & Community Liaisons with attendance at local community events, regional industry meetings, and regional trade and other shows.Support sector-specific research to identify potential partnership opportunities and maintain consistent data collection.General AdministrationProvide clear communications and seek continual improvement opportunities, both internally and externally.Support Industry & Community Liaisons with stakeholder engagement meetings and events across Ontario, as needed.Assist with maintaining OTEC’s project management methodologies, technology and processes to ensure quality and consistency.Ensure ongoing updates to the internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (Salesforce) database.Assist with presentation creation as needed.Perform other duties as required by management.Competencies & Skills Post-secondary education in business administration, community development, hospitality/tourism management, or equivalent work experience and education in a related field.1 to 2 years relevant work experience in the tourism sector program and/or project support is preferred.Highly organized and a self-starter.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, problem-solve, and work within deadlines.A solution-focused attitude in day-to-day interactions.Experience using and leveraging CRM and project management tools to inform actions and decision-making.Strong customer service orientation and attitude.Flexible, adaptable and can establish good working relationships with colleagues, partners and clients.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.General administrative skills, excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite, Salesforce, and Project Management Software.OTEC is an equal opportunity employer.
