Job Description : Equivalent Experience

Description:
The Interiors Technician position is designated for the Global Express Jet, Lear and Challenger programs at theTucson Business Aircraft Service Center. You will fabricate, install, and refurbish aircraft interior equipment and furnishings per work order or customer request. This may include items such as carpeting and upholstery on seats, card tables, side panels, glare shields, and aircraft cabinets. Ensure that all tasks assigned are completed and documented in accordance with manufacturer’s manuals or other FAA approved data. Experience on business aircraft desired but not required. Advise supervisor/lead of job status at all times. Maintain good housekeeping habits. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor/lead from time to time. Must be able to understand and interpret prints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Minimun Requirements:
Prefer at least 4 years as Interiors Technician, with previous wood finish and soft goods experience. Must have business / corporate aircraft experience

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

Additional Desired/Perferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in cabinet fabrication specific to corporate or commercial aircraft of high end marine industry

Ability to strip finish utilizing heat and scraper

Experience with sanding and prepping raw veneer and hardwood for finish including touching up defects in veneer

Ability to mix, match and apply stains and paints on new veneers

Knowledge on spraying polyester base coats and urethane top coats

Experience with Aircraft touch up

Ability to mask and unmask components for finish process

Knowledge of Corian fabrications

Knowledge in stripping and applications of veneers and laminates

Proficient in the operations of all required shop machinery

Knowledge in removal and installation of aircraft interior components

Knowledge in patterns and layout

Domenstrated ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings

Basic PC skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and/or aircraft status

Experience Level:
Intermediate Level
