Division: Risk & Compliance
Work Status: Paid Internship (4 months)
Location: Toronto, ON. Option for combination of onsite and remote/work from home.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Risk & Compliance, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Risk & Compliance team in execution of the Company’s annual audit of internal control over financial reporting as part of its National Instrument 52-109 certification.

You’ll be working on things like:

Conduct audit testing on low risk areas with supervision, for the evaluation of design and operating effectiveness of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and identify reportable issues
Ensure working papers are adequately documented and audit evidence is sufficient
Determine compliance with policies and procedures
Assist with updating documentation of key business processes and internal controls over financial reporting as required
Perform other duties in the R&C department as assigned

University student working towards an undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting
Solid accounting knowledge – having completed a basic level accounting course would be desirable
Basic understanding of auditing principles would be desirable
Strong documentation skills
Strong analytical skills and detailed-oriented
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written/verbal) required
Strong computer skills are required (e.g. Microsoft office – excel, word, PowerPoint)
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work
Ability to work independently
A positive attitude
