Job Description : As part of the Meta Global Internal Communications Team, you will be responsible for helping to develop and execute the global internal communications strategy for Instagram and Facebook. You will serve as a trusted counselor to executives in both organizations as we work to tell powerful stories about the two largest Meta apps to our internal audiences – building morale, articulating app and company-wide strategy, driving communications excellence, and building confidence and trust in leadership.We are looking for someone who excels at collaboration, is fiercely creative, a passionate storyteller, obsessed with delivering high-quality work, comfortable working autonomously with a high degree of ambiguity, and who truly loves our apps.Candidates should be experienced communications strategists (both developing and executing), creative writers (we are not about the corporate speak here), confident communicators, and fun! We’re going to be spending a lot of time together, so underline the fun part. We are looking for someone who has deep experience leading proactive communications programming, managing cross-functional projects and teams, influencing and driving alignment across stakeholder groups and executives, and telling complex narratives in a simple and compelling way. Additional qualities that will serve you well in this role: attention to detail, strong executive presence, ability to remain calm and flexible in a fast-paced environment, comfortable working in extreme ambiguity, Type A inclination toward organization, appreciation for sarcasm and dry humor, and a passion for out-of-the-box thinking (we want someone who will bring new ideas and who isn’t afraid to try and to fail, a lot!
Internal Communications Manager, Instagram & Facebook Responsibilities:
Develop and execute communications initiatives in partnership with teams across the Facebook and Instagram organizations.
Provide proactive and reactive messaging that supports key initiatives and program rollouts.
Understand the unique needs of product, engineering, and business teams (goals, products, tools, process) in order to produce effective and relevant communication strategies.
Consult with leadership on their communication and change management strategies.
Write and develop messaging around various topics, including company strategy, priorities, product launches, and announcements.
Identify opportunities to share organization milestones with the broader company audience.
Develop the strategy, overseeing planning and execution, and measure results of remote/in-person/hybrid organization-wide events (e.g., All Hands, Q&As, etc.).
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement consistent messaging across the organization.
Partner closely with other internal and external communications teams, as well as HR, to align on communication opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as communications, English, political science, philosophy, sociology.
8+ years professional experience working in internal and/or external communications, political campaigns, media, marketing, or nonprofit mission-driven communications.
Experience counseling and influencing senior executives.
Experience producing creative and engaging communications content.
Proven writing skills, including writing for executives and mass communications.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in public relations, branding, and/or campaigns.
Experience envisioning and executing large and small scale events.
Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers.
Experience in the technology industry.
Experience leading internal communications campaigns, programming, and events for a remote audience.
