Job Description : Job Summary
We are seeking upcoming and recent graduates from Information Technology Programs who are interested in joining an organization that offers opportunities to work in a stimulating and challenging environment, where technology plays a crucial and strategic role.
Our IT professionals are involved in creating or maintaining solutions, systems, platforms and tools, or skillfully integrating existing commercially off the shelf products, with the overall objective of protecting Canada and its citizens against terrorism, espionage and other threats to national security.

Education
Candidates applying must be a graduate or within one (1) year of obtaining a university bachelor’s degree or technologist designation in the field of Information Technology.

Experience
Undergraduate degree and one (1) year of relevant experience
Technologist diploma or Professional technologist equivalency designation and two (2) years of relevant experience
Underfill – no experience requirement
Underfill: Candidates who do not meet the required years of relevant experience will be considered as an underfill. All underfills will be required to meet the requirements noted below through achieving specific experience and objectives set in their training plan in order to subsequently be appointed to the full working level.

Develop complex software applications to meet demanding architectural standards

Develop solutions that enable our partners to deliver on their activities
Support the full software delivery cycle

Work on IT projects and innovation initiatives to support the IT services provided to our internal clients and partners
Troubleshoot technical problems, deploy new systems, or implement business changes
Engage in a broad range of opportunities, ranging from networking and infrastructure technologies, client services delivery and change management
Develop exposure to how IT supports and strengthens the organization’s capabilities in fulfilling its mandate

The incumbent may be required to work flexible hours with short notice.
Flexibility is required in relation to the work schedule that may extend beyond core hours of work based on operational requirements.
Some positions may require hours of work that include working a rotational shift within a 24/7 work environment.

Allowance:
Information Technology Market Modifier designated positions; therefore, successful candidates will are eligible to the IT Market Modifier. For this position employees receive an additional Technology allowance of 7% above their salary.
Some relocation expenses may be reimbursed.
A written exam may be administered as a screening tool in order to assess the candidates’ relevant technical knowledge.
While we continue to explore opportunities for flexible work arrangements, the majority of work in our organization must be done in the office and cannot be performed at home.

Security Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance. The process involves a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications. The use of illegal drugs is a criminal offense. CSIS is a separate employer and is not subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). CSIS has its own classification, compensation system, and a different staffing regime. As such, we use a different staffing process and terminology.
As a separate employer, CSIS has implemented a Directive on COVID-19 vaccination that is consistent with the overall Government of Canada approach to the COVID-19 vaccination of public servants.
