The department

The Global Technology department plays a crucial role in supporting the success of the business. We are responsible for developing and implementing state-of-the-art software and hardware maintenance to support our fund management, trading, distribution and operational areas with secure, stable and resilient technology platforms.

Overview of the role

This role collaborates closely with the Enterprise team to learn coding, design, how to build applications and about data integration solutions for our distribution business. This role will learn and assist in the design, build, and support of various data platforms on-premise (and in cloud) on Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server data warehouses to support all aspects of the distribution business.

Duties and responsibilities

You will:

Craft and develop different database programs using SQL in databricks.
Help with cloud migration of applications and product management.
Provide production support and test approaches for data management projects.
Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure adequate capacity and performance planning.
Follow existing Janus Henderson standards and procedures for data movement, as well as provide suggestions for new ones as the move toward cloud technologies matures.
Work closely with Technology (business analysts and .Net developers) and business resources on efforts of various scope.
Participate in all phases of the agile systems development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design (including code design and code reviews), development, testing and deployment. Provide work estimates for development tasks in project management and participate in agile ceremonies where appropriate.
Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Technical skills and qualifications

Exposure to MS Azure Cloud.
Exposure to any Database.
Some knowledge of Python.
Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or similar reporting tools.
Basic understanding of tools like Jira, Autosys, Git, VSTS, and ADO.
Exposure to Agile methodologies.
Familiarity with financial industry data is a plus.
Mathematical/Computer Science or statistical background is a plus.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
