Who we’re looking for…
The Junior Product Designer (JPD) at BombBomb is an integrated member of a product team coupled with a Product Manager and Engineers. This role is on a development path in order to become a skilled Product Designer within a fast-paced SaaS company. With their design education and a few years working in a design discipline, the JPD will learn to play an active role in each phase of the software development cycle, from discovery to delivery. At BombBomb, the JPD doesn’t work exclusively with product designers; instead, they work within a cross-disciplinary team organized around theme and outcome.
What you will do…
Product
Customer- As a Junior Product Designer (JPD), you will become an expert on their target customers. You will understand BombBomb customers’ desired goals and outcomes, uses cases, and tasks.
Operational- As a JPD, you will become considered an expert on how your product operationally works. This understanding will manifest in your ability to effectively demo the software to a prospective customer, onboard a new customer, and handle live customer support inquiries.
Business- As a JPD, you will understand the various dimensions of BombBomb’s business, including marketing, sales, finance, services, compliance. You will be knowledgeable about the industry and understands the competitive landscape and relevant industry trends affecting product strategy.
Data- As a JPD, you will be skilled with various data tools understanding qualitative and quantitative data.
Process
Interaction Design- You will understand many common design patterns in your product space, the human behaviors and technical constraints behind these patterns, and how to communicate the pros and cons of each design pattern. You will have a thorough understanding of your organization’s design system, how to use the system, and its technical constraints.
Visual Design- You will have an understanding of the product space (customer, operational, business, data) and influences their team’s long-term strategy.
Process- Your process will be well-defined and consistently leads to successful solutions. You will move efficiently through Discover, Refinement, Development, and Delivery phases.
Discovery- You will help produce small and effective high-quality UX design solutions supported by data-driven decisions, tested user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
Delivery- You will produce small and effective high-quality UX design solutions supported by data-driven decisions, tested user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
Testing + iterative process- You will constantly test assumptions and ideas with real users and customers. You won’t just test to validate a prototype; you will build testing into their weekly cadence so that they can constantly validate and refine ideas and collect new insights that feed the flywheel of iteration.
People
Collaboration- You will work closely with your engineers and your product manager. You will attend design critiques, design workshops, and sprints, giving feedback freely and constructively.
Influence- You will communicate complex ideas in simple and understandable ways.
Self-awareness- Your strengths are apparent to yourself and others. You will have a long-term career plan and act independently to progress on your goals.

Our ideal candidate will be or have…
1-2 years experience in digital product design.
Bachelor’s degree in a design discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
A captivating portfolio of work demonstrates high-quality design work and highlights your skills as a deep design thinker.
Empathy for the user and a deep passion for understanding people’s behavior and translating into digital interactions with software products.
Strong presentation skills and ability to craft solutions that support business outcomes.
An understanding of user-centered design, planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.
Experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Figma, Marvel, Miro, and Sketch

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $75,000 annually. Final compensation for this role is determined by a variety of factors, such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
