Job Description : Position for Legal SecretaryClassification Full Time, ExemptReports to Managing Partner, and assists all attorneys with needed tasksJob Overview We are looking to add a smart and motivated Legal Secretary to our mid-sized law firm which is recognized as one of Montana’s top-tier firms in Natural Resource Law. As a firm, our work spans the fields of water, environmental and property law across the state. The ideal candidate is excited to propel our firm’s success, is committed to excellence in their work, and is motivated to learn.ResponsibilitiesBe the front line of all communication in and out of the firm, including phone, email and letter correspondence, Monday through Friday from 8-5;Manage, organize, and maintain law firm documents in paper or electronic filing systems;Maintain all attorney calendars by scheduling all court deadlines and meetings;Provide daily administrative assistance to attorneys, such as filing motions, sending correspondence, and making necessary copies and postage;Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents;Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney;Communicates professionally and politely with all clients; andBring positive and collaborative energy to the team!Qualifications/Skills/ProficienciesHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required;Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a Bachelor’s degree preferred;Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized;Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor;Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook;Ability to work independently, manage workloads, and keep deadlines;Familiarity with court processes and rules is preferred but not required.Pay and BenefitsCompetitive salary beginning at $20+ an hour (DOE), with performance bonuses for total compensation up to $60,000 a year, if goals are met.Paid Time Off, based on standard accrual equation related to hours workedPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hourBenefits:Paid time offProfessional development assistanceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
