Job Description : Role : Operations Manager, Ratings Operations

Location : New York, NY, Centennial, CO

Business Impact
The role is one with global impact and coverage Ratings Operations the practice supported and Ratings Operations the broader data, technology and operations community. This role works closely with Commercial, Technology and Data teams to connect transformation initiatives with analytical and other end users. The role also works with LAMs, AMs and their teams to ensure a high level of operational efficiency, problem solving, and innovation.

The Operations Manager, Ratings Operations is a critical role in enabling the effective and efficient operations of global Ratings processes and playing a key part in driving end to end process simplification that meets customer needs. As a strategic partner to multiple roles Ratings Operations the organization (Commercial, Data, Analytical, Compliance, Technology, etc.), the Operations Manager uses their business knowledge and operational acumen to continuously improve operational processes and align to business value. The Operations Manager has accountability for either one region for a practice or has a smaller team size.

Key Responsibilities
Customer
Complete key steps of the end-to-end ratings process including analytic hierarchies for jobs of all complexity for more than one practice independently with pace and quality to meet customer needs
Solicits customer feedback, finds improvement opportunities from broader customer feedback to support the Ratings Operations mission & vision of process simplification and talent development
Operations
Operates with a customer lens, connects and influences partners, peers and senior leaders to continuously improve the way we work and successfully implement new process, technology, strategic changes
Has strong relationships with partners, peers and senior leaders to bring teams together to solve business problems
Strong communicator and represents the Ratings Operations team at senior business partner forums to solicit feedback and information to support workload planning, to solicit opportunities for continuous improvement, to communicate updates and reminders and to serve as a connector for the various S&P functions
Show understanding of the end-to-end ratings process, knowledge of SOPs, operating manuals, standard work
Lives and role models Lean & Agile principles and tools
Owns a process or project of varying complexity for the global team or for a broader set of business partners. Has strong execution skills to deliver with pace and quality. Lead and support change management of improvement efforts including user testing for system improvements
Develop and utilize metrics to lead and support the management and improvement efforts of Ratings Operations
Processes complex jobs for >1 practice, sets up analytic hierarchies (low contributor to job processing)
Ensures that the team meets its core responsibilities with pace and quality and continuously looks for ways to live the Ratings Operations mission and vision of process simplification and talent development
People
Manages the Ratings Operations team for a region of a practice
Manages overall team of 10-15 members with 2-3 direct reports
Demonstrates service-oriented leadership and empowers, coaches, motivates team to be successful in living ratings operations mission and achieving its vision of process simplification and talent development
Frequently communicates key information to team members to ensure they are informed, have context to be empowered in their work
Understands and follows all employee specific S&P guidelines and operating procedures to support the Ratings Operations team members
General
Thinks strategically to align with broader S&P Ratings & OO office initiatives, connect teams and find ways to live the Ratings Operations mission and achieve its vision of process simplification and talent development
Actively participates in building annual business plans, goals and works as a leadership team to deliver with pace and quality
Role models and lives the Ratings Operations operating principles

Basic Qualifications

3+ Years in Industry: Operations or Data experience preferred
2+ Years in a Management Role
Experience leading projects highly valued
Exposure to different parts of the organization in a variety of roles preferable

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $74,400 to $154,400 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
