JOB OVERVIEW – The Medicaid Administrative Officer position provides administrative and technical support to all employees of the Clinical Services Division, including the Division Administrator, the bureau chief, medical services managers, contractors, and providers. The position is responsible for the overall day-to-day functioning of the Medicaid claims administration process and oversight of all medical, mental health, dental and vision needs for all offenders in the custody of the Department. The position is supervised by the Medical Bureau Chief but may be assigned tasks by all staff members in the Division. The position performs a range of support work such as overseeing all medical services provided to offenders; reviewing and drafting correspondence; a wide variety of research projects; developing and maintaining various recordkeeping and tracking systems; responding to a wide variety of customer concerns via phone, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS – High school diploma or GED and four years of directly-related work experience. Or completion of a two-year Administrative Support/Office Management vocational program or post-secondary curriculum and two years of directly-related work experience. Other combinations of directly-related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred: Experience with medical terminology, Medicaid and correctional background. Experience in the insurance industry or medical or legal establishment.
