Dermatology Specialists is recruiting for an experienced Medical Assistant to work in our Patient Care Coordinator team that is a call center environment where you will have our own cubicle with a sit-stand desk, dual monitors, and a wireless headset and is located in our Louisville location at 1056 S 88th St Louisville, CO 80027. This position will be in-person, full-time at 5 days per week from 7:30am-4:30pm.
As a Medical Assistant in our Patient Care Coordinator center, you are responsible for the triaging of patient care, calling patients with pathology results, calling patients with lab results, working with pharmacies to obtain prescriptions for patients, obtaining prior-authorizations for patients for medications, working with Ipledge to coordinate Accutane prescriptions, scheduling surgeries and other patient appointments as needed, explaining billing responsibilities to patients, and collecting patient payments over the phone.
Must be detail oriented, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a great team player and passionate about patient care and finding purpose in your work. Must have the greatest respect for colleagues, co-workers and patients. Must have a high level of proficiency at Windows based computer programs and Electronic Medical Records.

Essential Functions:

Answer phones in a call center environment.
Schedule appointments for patients.
Call patients with pathology and lab results and document in the patient’s medical record.
Complete tasks in the patient’s medical record to coordinate patient care.
Triage incoming medical questions and document within the patient’s medical record.
Obtain and enter new patient demographics; update patient information as necessary in the computer system to maintain accuracy for billing.
Answer basic billing questions from patients and take payments over the phone.

Education:

High School graduation or GED.
Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience.

Skills/Experience:

Minimum of 1+ Years as a Medical Assistant
Mod Med (EMA) experience a plus
Experience in dermatology, plastic surgery or surgical experience a plus
Word processing and computer experience
Possess critical thinking skills
Great organizational skills
Ability to handle high volume situations
Ability to work independently and as a team
Must be organized and detail oriented
