Position : Medical Billing and Coding Specialist
Job Description : Small private practice is looking for a medical coding and billing specialist who can provide excellent customer service to our patients. Applicants must have an up-to-date certification and at least 2 years of experience in primary care. They should be able to perform the following tasks which include, but is not limited to:
– Learn and use OpenPM by Open Practice Solutions, our billing software.
– Learn and use Sevocity, the EMR program, which communicates with OpenPM.
– Review provider clinical notes to make sure correct CPTs are submitted.
– Give providers documentation and coding advice regularly to maximize collections.
– Scrub charts, submit all claims, collect and post payments in a timely manner.
– Work claim denials to get them paid.
– Provide kind, clear, accurate customer service to patients when explaining their benefits and bills.
– Work with a collection agency to collect overdue bills.
– Work with providers to obtain and keep updated credentials with insurers, provider groups, and hospitals.
– Review insurance fee schedules and make sure they’re equivalent to market standards.
The position can be structured according to the applicants preference. One can work as a 1099 contractor or W2 employee, on site or at home, days or nights. As long as the work gets done well, the job can be quite flexible. Salaries will be competitive to other practices and benefits are very good for W2 employees.
Applicants should also be flexible to cover the front desk on days when nurses need time off, which is not often, about 1-2 days per 2 weeks.

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
