Essential Duties

Operate various pieces of heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, following all Newmont’s rules and procedures. (Majority of the time will be spent operating a track mounted drill)
Learn and follow safety rules, report hazards, and take responsibility for your actions.
Demonstrate excellent listening and strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Follow established processes to complete a thorough vehicle inspection before and after operating equipment and communicate mechanical problems in detail to maintenance department.
Strive to make safety the foundation to everything you do and offer suggestions for improvement when you see them.
You will also have other responsibilities and tasks in line with the role of a Driller.

Qualifications, Training & Experience

Demonstrated proficiency in operating mining equipment.
Ability to make smooth connection in the drill string while steel drilling or adding tools.
Ability to maintain drill in relation to lubrications, dust suppression and winterizing.
Ability to maintain proper hole depth and drills loadable holes for blasting.
Ability to drive a motor vehicle, and must possess a valid driver’s license with at least one-year of driving experience.
Ability to read, write, and possess basic math and science skills to complete daily reporting requirements.

Working Conditions

You will work a 12-hour shift, rotating between days and nights.
This full-time position is located at the Cripple Creek & Victor mine site in Colorado.
The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level.
Workers in this position are routinely exposed to conditions at various work sites throughout this range of elevations.
Weather conditions can and do change frequently, and can become severe at times.
Ability to complete work tasks while exposed to weather conditions / elevation
