Job Description : The Role: Natural Gas Data Analyst
In this entry-level role, you will support the research and tracking of asset-level data as part of our industry-leading data analytics in the power, natural gas, coal and renewable markets. You will become an expert on power plants, energy companies, transmission lines, and gas pipelines, learning the core operations of the business and tracking the key industry metrics reported by energy producers.
Your keen eye for detail and dedication to quality assurance will support our 100% accuracy guarantee to clients. A clear and collaborative communicator, you will break down complex topics to both colleagues and external contacts when seeking clarity on ad-hoc data questions.
The Location: Boulder, Colorado
The Team: This is a highly-collaborative team that solves problems and works through complex topics together. Located adjacent to Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall, team members enjoy a wide array of restaurants, entertainment, and events.

Responsibilities:
Collect and process energy asset data in a timely manner
Respond to Client inquiries about various data sets
Create new processes and update existing processes to improve the accuracy and collection speed
Monitor daily natural gas flow data for 140+ pipelines
Update pipeline contract and tariff data
Help design and implement new data automation processes around data quality
Act as a contact person for the energy development teams and provide user acceptance testing for new data products
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Math, Economics, Business or related field
Strong problem-solving skills
Experience with Microsoft Office (word, Excel, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using database and scripting tools such as Python, SQL, R, SAS, or SPSS
Any Power/Energy Experience
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only ):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $38.4k – $79.7k . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
