Job Description : About the Role:
Position assists customers with a full range of deposit related accounts while counseling customers on other bank products. Primary responsibilities include opening and maintaining personal/business checking and/or savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit, Safe Deposit Box, Individual Retirement Accounts and Health Savings Accounts. Position possesses the product knowledge to cross-sell online banking services and to refer customers to other bank products, such as credit cards and merchant processing. Promotes increased customer use of bank products and services to enhance customer satisfaction. Position complies with all banking laws and regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Explain the different types of bank products and services available to customers and assist them in the selection of the products that are most appropriate for their needs. Cross sell and/or refer customers to other bank products and services such as credit cards, merchant processing, and online banking services. Open and maintain personal and/or business checking or savings accounts, safe deposit or IRA’s; enter and update information on accounts; and prepare all the related documentation. Issue and cash out Certificates of Deposits; prepare correct documentation; review terms and calculate penalties and interest if they apply; and notify customers of C.D. renewal deadlines. Investigate and research customer complaints and account problems and recommend alternatives for resolving the complaints/problems. Adjust accounts in accordance with established bank policy and with approval of the supervisor. Provide response to customer service types of requests such as but not limited to the following: order check cards, ATM cards; change addresses, process Harland Check orders, deposit tickets and endorsement stamps. Monitor, follow up on closed account report, and non-sufficient fund items. Set up overdraft protection according to established bank policy. May provide Safe Deposit Box custodial services, maintain documentation and branch files. Initiate rental of safe deposit boxes; explain rules and procedures to new customers and secure proper signatures on the rental documents. Follow proper procedures for admittance, closing, lost keys, refunds, or breaking into safe deposit boxes. Maintain accurate admittance card records and assist with the process of billing and collecting of box payments.
About You:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
A high school degree or GED is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, papers and related office machines; reach with the hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb; stoop; kneel and crouch when retrieving information or documentation. The employee may be required to move up to 20 pounds periodically.
Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
