Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations Division. We are looking for a Grain Assistant to work under the Grain Origination team to help in their day to day tasks with procuring grain and setting up marketing programs. You must be able to make decisions, work independently, be detail oriented, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will work with a knowledgeable staff that is willing to teach the grain business. Personality is key as it takes the right person to take what is learned and apply it throughout the year. This opportunity has growth potential and offers mobility within CHS.
Responsibilities
Assist with scale operation.
Assist with truck dispatching as needed .
Assist Grain Origination team that work with producers and country elevators to form marketing plans.
Work closely with Grain Marketing personnel (i.e., grain merchants, grain buyers, the hedge desk and accountants) in exchange of information.
Communicate bid changes and closing bids to customers.
Assist with grain settlements and contracts .
Report all purchase contracts quickly and accurately.
Assist operations team with elevator during harvest(s).
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
High School diploma or GED
Ability to show up and learn the grain business, apply what is learned
Additional Qualifications
Must be able to live up to 50 lbs
Compensation Data
Hourly rate: $14.47 – $19.89
This position has opportunity for promotion
CHS offers a competitive total compensation package.
Compensation: This includes base wage and may consist of other earnings depending upon position within CHS, consisting of bonuses, incentives, commissions, merit pay. This position may be an opportunity for promotion.
