The Office of Child Welfare, part of the Oregon Department of Human Services, is looking for 1 (one) permanent, full-time dedicated and compassionate Child Welfare Office Manager 2 in Hermiston, OREGON, USA.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The role and function of this position is critical to the overall functioning of the district in achieving the agency mission and goals. This position develops the clerical delivery system and processes to ensure efficient workflow. It designs, implements, and administers the business management activities of the program. This position supervises 10.5 support staff and is responsible for the administrative functioning of the Child Welfare offices in three locations: Boardman, Hermiston, and Pendleton. This position manages the day-to-day administration of State and Federal laws, administrative rules, agency policies and procedures, personnel policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreement for all staff. This position works closely with the Business Integrity Coordinator to design, implement, and administer the business activities for D12’s Child Welfare offices. Serves as a staff resource for attendance, benefits, overtime and other personnel or payroll related items. This position oversees all flex fund operations, authorizing all expenditures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Travel required. Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as position requires travel both in the consolidated district and for state meetings. Limited physical exertion is required. Regular travel to other offices, meetings, trainings, etc., is required frequently in inclement weather. Availability for phone and consultation/coordination with District 12 staff and branch operations per consolidations. May experience long periods of sitting at a computer terminal which could contribute to eye strain. Requires cultural/racial diversity and sensitivity. Public contact, which may include meetings with hostile clients or employees either directly or by phone. Hours of work may vary from day to day and may include evenings and weekends.
Most of the work is accomplished in a typical office setting from 8am -5pm -Monday through Friday. This position can also remote work and days will vary from week to week. Office Manager needs to have a leadership presence in the three district offices, will keep an up to date outlook calendar reflecting remote work days and ensure program staff and community partners know how to connect with the Office Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
One (1) year of experience as a supervisor of clerical and/or secretarial or office support staff which included hiring or recommending hiring; training, assigning, and reviewing work; preparing performance evaluations; and handling disciplinary actions.

Finalists will be subject to a computerized criminal history and abuse check. Adverse background data may be grounds for immediate disqualification. Successful candidates for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Computer theft, identify theft and fraud. CJIS Clearance is done at the conditional job offer. Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. If no driver’s license, must be able to provide alternate method of transportation.
