The Montana Department of Labor & Industry’s Employment Relations Division has broad responsibilities to ensure workplaces are safe and both employers and employees are treated fairly and equitable with wage laws, labor standards, human rights, and workers’ compensation insurance.
As an Outreach & Education Specialist you will:
Establish and foster positive working relationships with a variety of individuals, groups, and associations to promote the division’s programs, services, and people.
Create educational and promotional content that is informative, compelling, and easy to follow.
Deliver program information through group presentations and educational videos.
Plan and coordinate the delivery of training events and conferences.
Work with all levels of the division to guide present and future outreach activities.

outreach and marketing strategies to promote and increase program participation.
methods for curriculum and training design, instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
Skills in:
creating content that is informative, compelling, and easy to follow.
delivering information and ideas through multiple media formats in a concise, clear, and creative manner.
planning, organizing, and presenting training events.
monitoring and assessing the performance of yourself, programs, and content to make improvements or take an alternative action.
Ability to:
communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and levels of understanding.
self-motivate, be resourceful, and independently plan work activities under general guidance and direction.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
This position requires the ability to drive long distances and schedule on-site presentations in similar geographic locations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree, preferably with completed coursework in communication, education, or public relations.
Two years of directly related experience.
Or
Five years of directly related experience.
Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
