Job Summary:Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director, manages, and directs multiple crews engaged in the maintenance of City parks, playgrounds, sports fields, facilities, trails and Rifle Mountain Park. Participates in a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance duties, including turf and landscape management and equipment operation.
Experience and Training:Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience in Landscape, Horticulture, or Turf Management, or other closely related field preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
Job Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver’s License. Complete a background search and MVR with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle.Required Certifications: Possession of or ability to obtain private pesticide applicators license within 1 year of hire.
Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job: 5 years’ experience in project management, maintenance management and work crew coordination. Two years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above may be considered.”Work Remotely
